Woodlands Academy
Woodlands Academy is an international, private, boarding school in Wicklow, Ireland that strives to provide the most appropriate environment: facilities, programs and personnel, for the Integral Formation of young women as Christian leaders.
Our education is rooted in the living Catholic tradition of academic excellence, personal integrity, high moral standards and a spirit of service to others. It aims to offer to each student the key to her personal happiness and fulfilment in this life and the next, and it provides her with the means to be an active agent for improvement in whatever walk of life she chooses.
Campus
Woodlands Academy is located in County Wicklow, 25 km away from Dublin, at the bottom of the Sugar Loaf Mountain, very close to Powerscourts gardens and golf course.
Woodlands Academy opened its doors in 1973 at the “Dal Riada” residence in Dublin. This was Oak International’s first academy for girls. Wingfield House, a restored Queen Anne-style mansion, was built during the 1800s. The property’s expansive lawns, elegant gardens and natural pond provide Woodlands Academy’s students with exceptionally beautiful surroundings.
EUROPEAN TRAVEL
Woodlands girls have the opportunity to visit many cultural places in Europe throughout their stay. As Ireland is on Europe’s ‘doorstep’, Woodlands takes advantage of this and offer five trips per year, including Italy, Switzerland (staying at our sister Academy, Le Chatelard), London, Paris and Lisbon/Fatima.
